KUMON CONNECT available
Did you know, you can now study Kumon using digital worksheets? This study centre is proud to offer KUMON CONNECT. Click here for more details.

The Kumon Boksburg South Study Centre initially opened in 2006. The centre is situated at
 270 Rondebult Road, Parkdene.

At the Kumon Centre we believe Kumon is for everyone and therefore we can accommodate students of all ages and abilities, who wish to improve their competence in maths and English.

We are open for three afternoons a week and for two hours on a Saturday morning. Students attend centre twice a week for a 20-30 minute timeslot per subject. This enables all students to get individualised attention and support. Students, however, complete their Kumon worksheets every day of the week.

The centre offers a friendly, quiet and welcoming environment where students are encouraged to progress at a pace uniquely suited to their ability levels. Work is carefully planned and appropriate instruction is given on centre days so that students can continue their work at home with confidence.

We offer a reading area and a library of Kumon Recommended Reading books, from which students are encouraged to borrow books.

We look forward to being of service to you and your family!

Please contact us to book your child’s Kumon journey to success.

About the Instructor

Greetings to all soon-to-be Kumon parents! My name is Erien Gaizley.

I became a Kumon Instructor in 2016. Prior to joining the Kumon family I studied Cost Engineering and Project Controls and worked on various large mining projects both locally and internationally. After my daughter was born my life changed, and a family member whose children were enrolled at Kumon introduced me to the programme. I did a lot of research before approaching the company to become part of this successful organisation.

Being a Kumon Instructor as a well as a business owner has provided me with opportunities and job satisfaction that I truly never thought existed. As I continually train and develop my instruction techniques through Kumon’s endless support, I grow in confidence in my ability to instruct students of all ages and abilities in the most effective and efficient way possible. My desire is to nurture every student to realise their potential and develop their work skills and academic ability to the maximum.

Please contact me for your enrolment interview.

Popular Questions

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
Kumon offers much more than extra lessons and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
