Welcome to the Constantia Centre which is based at the Waldorf School in the leafy suburb of Constantia.
This Kumon Centre was taken over by the current Instructor in 1998 and both the Kumon Maths and English programmes are offered here.
As Constantia is predominantly a residential area, most of the pupils come from schools outside of the area. Students currently enrolled range in age from 4 to 16 years.
There is no quick-fix or magic wand in the process of acquiring new skills (academic, sporting, musical or any other). New skills are mastered through regular practice and this will take time.
The team of three assistants and the Instructor are on hand in class to offer support and encouragement. Two of the assistants are dedicated to working with the younger students, up to and including Grade 2. The Instructor is responsible for the students from Grade 3 upwards and there is one administration assistant. Through the positive and encouraging atmosphere in the centre, the team works towards developing the confidence and skills of every student. New students very quickly become familiar with the centre routine.
While communication between the Instructor and parents is very important, this cannot happen during centre hours as all the focus is on the students. The time for parent/Instructor communication is weekday mornings or via emails at any time.
There is ample and secure parking in the grounds of the school.
