The Kumon Kokstad Study Centre was established in 2001, starting with a few children gathered around the Instructor’s dining room table. Over the years the centre has grown to about 70 students. Corina Brand, the current Instructor, took over the centre in 2013.
The centre boasts the best address in town, 123 Main Street, easy enough for even the youngest student to remember! The centre is easily-accessible, close to the local shopping centre (for moms) and is a quiet, secure venue providing an excellent study environment. The centre is a stone’s throw away from most of the local schools – three of them being within 500m – many of our students are able to walk to the centre. There is, however, shaded parking for parents who would prefer to bring their children to centre.
Four assistants and the Instructor, each of whom is committed to the programme and the development of the students, work at the centre to support your child’s learning. Our youngest student is a student of three who is learning to read and our oldest ... well, let’s not let out any secrets... We’ll just mention that the centre caters for ALL ages and ALL abilities.
Our aim at the Kokstad Centre is to facilitate study towards and then above school curriculum level and to develop in students the skills and confidence to study on their own. We encourage and nurture the inherent potential of all children by developing their self-confidence, perseverance and concentration.
Our centre shares the Kumon heart for the development of people.
