The centre opened in 2003 and offers the Kumon Maths programme, which is suitable for students of all ages and abilities, to students attending Parklands College Junior and Senior Preparatory faculties. The current students’ ages range from four to thirteen years old. The centre is run from 2 classrooms in the Junior Preparatory (Grade 00 – Grade 3) and 1 classroom in the Senior Preparatory (Grade 4 – Grade 6).
Students complete individually-set daily work at home, and attend class at the school centre twice a week, for 30 minutes. As this centre is on the College premises it is very convenient for parents and students.
Currently, the Parklands College Kumon Centre has a team of 3 well-trained assistants who are friendly and approachable, and who are devoted to the students’ development. Staff at the centre provides instruction, observes students, introduces new work, tests progress and gives support, praise and feedback.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. In order to recognise academic ability, the centre holds an annual awards ceremony to acknowledge students who are working above school grade level.
The centre welcomes students of all ages and abilities and allows them to pursue their full potential by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
