The Tokai Centre opened in April 1997 and operates from a family home in a quiet residential suburb, creating a calm and safe learning environment for students.
It offers both English and Mathematics, accommodating older students in a larger classroom, little ones in a smaller classroom, and has a separate reading area.
Our students range in age from three years old to adults, as the flexible nature of the Kumon programme allows it to be individualised for all ages and abilities. It is the aim of Kumon to develop the potential of every student through building confidence and developing study skills by means of the structure of the English and Maths programmes.
The Instructor, Ingrid, and a dedicated team of seven well-trained, caring assistants work together to provide an environment of study that encourages within each individual student a desire to learn, an enjoyment of learning, and the development of those skills which are necessary for success in higher levels of English and Maths. Our Kumon centre operates within an open-plan layout, which allows Ingrid and her staff team to observe and monitor all activities.
We are open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. We offer the flexibility of attending the centre twice a week on any of these days, as well as providing ample free parking, with a parking guard in attendance. We also have a leafy garden with a number of chairs and benches where parents or children can wait.
