My name is Tshepo Mokoena; I'm 17 years old, in Grade 12 at Springs Boys' High School. I completed the Kumon Maths Programme at the end of my Grade 9 year.
After reaching one of my biggest Kumon goals (studying algebra in Grade 6), I started taking pride in my work. With the help of my Instructor, I became more involved in the decision making process and deciding for myself what work I needed to practice. This forced me to stick to my goals. Kumon introduced me to self-study and, at school; I find this to be extremely important because you can solve any problem without the help of the teacher.
There isn't a specific formula for Kumon and No! It isn't muti (magic)...it all boils down to hard work. I thank my parents and my Instructor, but most of all I thank Kumon for giving me the opportunity to improve my school work, not just in maths, but in all my subjects. Thanks also to the Kumon Institute of Education because without Kumon I would never be where I am today!
