The Kumon Beacon Bay Study centre is situated in a shopping complex, giving us great exposure to the public. Parents can drop their students at the centre and while the students are completing their Kumon for the day, they can run a few errands, do some shopping or have a cup of coffee at the nearby coffee shop. The shopping complex also provides ample parking for the parents. Students must be dropped off and collected at the entrance of our centre.
Our centre is light and airy and provides students with an environment that is conducive to study. The centre can seat up to 35 students at a time. Four efficient assistants are stationed at their own work station.
The centre is open from Mondays to Thursdays from 10am to 6pm on Mondays and Thursdays and 5pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The centre first opened in 1998. Helene Knight and I took over the centre in 2008 when we became part of the Kumon family.
We currently have 120 Maths and 70 English students. One of our youngest students is a little girl of four years old. She is currently working on fractions in the Maths programme. Our students range from 4 to 17 years old (Gr 11). We also have 2 adult students enrolled in the English programme.
