The Centre was built in 2000, purely for Kumon and is nestled in the garden suburb of Dunvegan. The Centre is secure within the boomed-off Dunvegan Security Village, thus affording many students the opportunity to walk or ride their bikes to the Centre. The Centre is open from 08h30 to16h45 five days a week for homework collections, if students miss a class day.
Ample on-site parking is available, with a park down the road to help parents pass the time while waiting with younger siblings. There is also a reception area for parents to wait and an outside area for parents, who wish to start homework with other siblings.
The Centre caters for all ages and abilities, with those at the centre currently ranging from four year old to adults, and even those with special needs. The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualized, advanced study.
I have a particular interest in pre-schoolers and early literacy and numeracy development. There are designated areas for early learners, number boards, English students and independent learners.
The Centre offers a welcoming and motivating environment where students can progress at their own pace, and eventually realise their own potential by working above their school Grade level.
I am currently supported by ten caring and motivated Assistants. Regular communication and feedback with parents is critical to the students’ success, and is therefore a priority in my Centre.
