The Bethlehem Kumon Study Centre was established in August 2004. After initially offering maths only, the English programme was added in March 2005. The centre is run from a house which is situated in the main street of Bethlehem, and it is easily accessible and close to two of Bethlehem’s biggest schools.
The old house has a cosy atmosphere and a big garden which provides a quiet and relaxed environment, conducive to studying and concentrating well. The centre is in a room at the back of the premises, away from the bustle of other activities in the house, where a few other businesses run. There is ample parking available, and a lovely patio looking out on the garden provides a comfortable place for parents to sit and wait for their children. Tables and chairs are available so work can be done while waiting, and there is free Wi-Fi for parents who might need it.
The Bethlehem Centre caters for students ranging from 3 years to 18 years of age. The Instructor sees to each student herself and believes in soft classical music in the background while students work away on their worksheets. The Instructor is able to assist students in Afrikaans, English and Sotho.
