Kumon Boksburg – Freeway Park was a take- over centre in August 2000, having been one of the first study centres opened in Boksburg. The centre was taken over by Dianne Behrens from the previous Instructor Melanie Schoerie, who was immigrating to the United States.
The centre is run from two of the classrooms situated in a children’s section of a church. Some of the unique features which Kumon Freeway Park possesses are separate classrooms for English and Maths, with ages ranging between 5 years and 14 years. The centre currently has 5 assistants, 2 for the English centre and 3 for Maths.
The benefits of the centre include a large parking area for parents who wait for their children, adequate toilet facilities and sheltered covering outside the classrooms for students waiting for transport or parents to collect them. There is also a wonderful playground which Kumon students have access to.
