The Lonehill Centre has been operating since 2006, and is run by an Instructor who has 11 years’ experience with Kumon and over 16 years in education. The Instructor manages a number of students, ranging from ages 4 to 16 with the help of two well-trained assistants. Developing study skills in Early Learners is absolutely vital in preparing, planning, and implementing a successful student journey. Instilling a work ethic, as well as many other important life skills, is integral to the way in which the Kumon method is individualised to ensure effective results for each child.
Our aim is to provide an educational service that goes far beyond the development of only academic ability. The philosophy behind the Kumon method is pivotal to how we work, inculcating the Japanese work ethic and discipline into the Kumon centre in a South African way. Class and home work is assigned with care, as each student develops at their own pace. Each student is kept at their ‘just-right level’, while developing on their foundational skills through self-learning. We focus on respect in our centre, not only towards our work, but towards our fellow students, while maintaining a happy, constructive working buzz.
