About our centre

Kumon Karaglen Learning Centre is conveniently located upstairs at Karaglen Mall, offering a safe, quiet, and easily accessible learning environment. Parents are welcome to relax in our comfortable balcony waiting area, or take advantage of the variety of shops and restaurants located downstairs and just across the road, making waiting time both convenient and productive.

Our centre is dedicated to creating a welcoming, user-friendly space that encourages confidence, independence, and a love for learning. We understand the demands of busy schedules and extra-mural activities, which is why we offer both in-centre and online learning options. The centre operates on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons, as well as Saturday mornings, providing flexible learning opportunities for our families.

Our instructors are carefully selected and undergo comprehensive Kumon training to ensure each child receives the highest standard of guidance and support. We work with students of all ages and abilities, focusing on strengthening individual skills and

competencies so that every learner can progress at their own pace and reach their full potential.

We offer Kumon Maths, English, and English as a Foreign Language through Kumon Connect or at our learning centre. Each programme is individually tailored, with regular assessments and consistent feedback provided to parents to ensure transparency and measurable progress.

About your Instructor

My journey with Kumon began long before I opened my learning centre. After school, I chose to study Psychology, driven by a deep passion for understanding behaviour and guiding children to grow, excel, and reach their full potential. Supporting children in their development has always been at the heart of who I am.

While working in the corporate world, I continued searching for a purpose-driven path that aligned with my values and beliefs. I ultimately found that alignment through Kumon—an approach that resonates deeply with my commitment to meaningful, long-term learning.

I hold a major in Linguistics and am a qualified TEFL instructor, and I have completed various early childhood development courses. These experiences, combined with my role as a mother to two beautiful girls, have shaped my understanding of how children learn and thrive as they navigate their schooling journeys.

Kumon equips children with far more than strong Maths and English skills. It nurtures diligence, determination, perseverance, and a confident mindset—tools that help children approach both academics and life with resilience and self-belief, easing pressure and preparing them for the wider world.

My vision is for every child who walks into my centre to leave feeling confident, capable, and empowered. Through Kumon, I aim to support children of all learning abilities to believe in themselves, embrace challenges, and achieve their fullest potential.

Frequently Asked Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
