About our centre

Before opening my centre, I worked as a sports facilitator, where I developed a strong foundation in working with children, building discipline, and encouraging growth through patience and consistency. However, I felt a deeper calling to do more. I made the decision to pursue my goal of opening a Kumon centre, creating a space where I could have a greater impact on students’ lives.

I am known for being calm and patient, and I believe that every child learns differently. My aim is to create an environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and even excited to learn. I don’t believe in simply helping students achieve results — I focus on equipping them with the skills and confidence to achieve their potential independently.
My vision is for my centre to be more than just a place of learning. I want it to be a space where students feel safe, motivated, and empowered to grow, both academically and personally.
I look forward to partnering with parents, and more importantly, with their children, to build strong foundations for a successful future.

Chad Rogers

About your Instructor

My name is Chad Rogers, and I am in my mid-twenties. As an instructor, I take pride in creating a calm, welcoming space where students feel comfortable to learn, grow, and build confidence at their own pace.

I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential, not just academically, but in confidence and independence as well.
My journey into education is a personal one. During my time at school, I experienced first-hand how easily a learner can fall behind. After suffering an injury in Grade 10, I was unable to write for an entire term during a crucial stage of my learning. Too afraid to speak up and ask for help, I struggled to catch up in the years that followed. That experience stayed with me and shaped how I see education today.

While studying further, I began working as a Classroom Assistant at a Kumon centre. It was here that I saw the true impact of the Kumon method. Watching students grow in ability, confidence, and independence made me realise how different my own journey could have been if I had access to this kind of support earlier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
