Kumon Rivonia-Edenburg first welcomed students through its doors in 2022.
Happy children love to learn here!
The mission of Kumon is to aid in mainstream education around the world by creating an individualized program that nurture’s capable people into society.
Additionally, our centre’s mission is to assist every learner to unleash their exceptional abilities within! To foster an innate love for learning, encourage curiosity and to allow every learner to experience the joy of self-learning.
"There is a limit to how much you can force a child to study but the potential for growth through self-learning is endless" – Toru Kumon
Kumon offers much more than extra lessons and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing learners for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers self-learning, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in Maths and English, each learner will build independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that learners will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Kumon uniquely reveals and develops the abilities within each child, fostering the lifelong skills of both self-learning and independence.
Learners begin at an individually attuned starting point and progress through the programme in a way that is tailored to them, ensuring continuous growth at a self-set pace. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each learner – regardless of age – ensuring that work sets extend and develop their skills, confidence and abilities.
Kumon’s long-term focus and program design, equips learners with an invaluable set of necessary life skills that allows for a progression in study beyond school grade level.
Our centre boasts an especially warm and welcoming environment, with the addition of a cosy reading corner. Parents are most welcome to a leisurely wait around the centre, with many shops and restaurants in close proximity, as learners attend their study sessions.
We offer a free initial assessment and a guided tour before enrolment so that you can see for yourself all that we have to share!

About the Instructor

My name is Kea Archary and I am currently completing my Masters in Psychology. I have a major passion for teaching and for developing children’s abilities.
I am so privileged to be able to do what I love each and every day. I am constantly learning and growing in my understanding of how to use the Kumon Maths and English Programmes as a tool to empowering others. Through Kumon I believe I am able to make a real impact in the world!
I wholeheartedly agree with our founder, Toru Kumon’s belief that “… it is priceless to realise that you are unfinished… ” and so, I strive every day to be my very best and to unleash the very best from each and every learner that comes through my doors!

Popular Questions

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
Kumon offers much more than extra lessons and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
