KUMON CONNECT available

At Kumon Sunninghill, our aim is to discover each and every child’s potential and to develop them to their maximum, which is infinite. Our approach for each child is unique. By closely observing each student, we are able to develop their understanding, work skills and attitude through intentional instruction. We know that each child develops differently and at their own pace, so we tailor each journey according to their specific needs. Kumon is a wonderful programme that strikes the balance of not overexerting your child but still adding a challenge to keep them engaged. At Sunninghill, we don’t just look at helping your child improve their school grades but helping them grow into sustainable self-learners through our holistic approach. Each worksheet they complete allows them to experience the joy of self-learning and advancing on their own. Imagine how wonderful it would be for your child to confidently take on their schoolwork and give it their best willingly because they have the confidence to try.

We encourage students to continue with the programme beyond their grade-level. This means that your child will start learning how to do work that they would normally only begin doing in higher grades at school. This provides children with booming confidence to start a new year at school with an “I can do it” attitude because they have already been exposed to the work. Not only does this positively influence their grades, but they also have a more positive attitude towards school because they don't feel lost with difficult concepts.

On behalf of the whole Sunninghill team, we would like you to know that whether your child is as young as two years old, or, as an adult you are interested in becoming a Kumon student, we will welcome you with open arms as Kumon has the ability to develop anyone as long as they are willing to give it a try. Each person’s journey is our passion and our priority.

We look forward to seeing you in class soon!

About the Instructor

My name is Ishani Singh and I am the Kumon Sunninghill centre instructor. I have an international degree in marketing management from the IMM GSM institute.
I was introduced to Kumon 4 years ago when I saw a Street pole advert and enquired more about the program. I enrolled my then 3 year old son at Kumon.
Within the first few months of classes, my son was able to do calculations mentally and read fluently.  Kumon helped him excel in school and also developed his critical thinking ability.
I am passionate about children and enjoy being around them. I am eager to watch them learn, discover and grow. Their curious minds never cease to amaze me.
I believe every child can reach their true potential through guidance; this is why I decided to open a Kumon centre. I want to help nurture and grow all my students.
“Education is the key to success.” This is a motto I strongly believe in, which is why I believe all children deserve the right to achieve their greatest potential.
Enrolling my son in the Kumon program is one of the best decisions I have made regarding his future schooling and career and life skills. It not only helped him academically, but has also boosted his confidence. I am proud to say that he believes he can to anything.
At Kumon Sunninghill, all children are able to discover their full potential and to do so at their own pace.
I am dedicated to nurturing my students and providing them with a safe, comfortable space to grow.
I look forward to meeting you and your little one soon.

Popular Questions

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.
Kumon offers much more than extra lessons and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
